Hypnotherapy, Hypnosis for Birth |
| Welcome to the benefits of Hypnotherapy! For thousands of years hypnotherapy has been used as a way to facilitate wellness and healing. It is an incredible tool for tapping into our |
subconscious and superconscious mind allowing the seeds of transformation to take root and a new path to unfold. Using Hypnosis for Birth & Fear Release: Labor and birth can, for some people, be a scary event and using hypnosis to bring ourselves back to the understanding that birth is a normal, natural physiological function of the female body can do wonders in creating positive and gentle birthing experiences. When fear is present, it clouds our mind and causes our bodies to react in fight or flight mode, releasing all of the hormones needed in a dangerous situation but also none of the hormones needed for effective and gentle birthing. It is when we approach birth with a clear mind, knowing that our bodies will birth as they were designed to do, that we secrete the lovely birthing hormones. Surprising as it may sound, birth does not have to be an excruciating event. It can be long, arduous and challenging but from the perspective that it is hard work, not excruciating. If we can start that simply, with that idea, then gentle birthing is in reach. I work with women who have a variety of fears around birthing and none of the issues are too great or too insignificant to heal. Hypnosis Facts: All hypnosis is self-hypnosis and hypnosis defined is simply a hightened state of relaxation and focused concentration that allows our mind to open up and bring to the forefront what is normally dormant in the subconscious. Our superconscious is also open during the hypnotic state and this area of our mind has wonderful widsom and insight and always knows how to help in the healing process. It is very important for you to know that hypnosis is not something that is done to you and I, as a hypnotherapist, am a facilitator in your healing process. Since hypnosis is a self-allowed deep trance state, it is impossible to become stuck in hypnosis or to do or say anything that is not in line with what you want to do or with what you want to reveal or say. You have full control in a hypnosis session and are never, ever at the mercy of the facilitator. This is why it is important to trust and feel comfortable with a hypnotherapist. Trust allows for a deeper relaxation state resulting in a fabulous healing session. Some people go very lightly into their first hypnotherapy session and some go very deeply. Either way, your subconscious is open and you will always get what you need. Often times people find that they go deeper and deeper each time they do hypnosis or listen to the CD they get from my sessions which makes more and more healing available to them. I happen to be someone who takes a bit longer to settle down and relax but each time I do self-hypnosis, i'm able to go a little deeper than the time before and I always end up with what I need. Additionally, self-hypnosis is a wonderful tool to use for life and I would highly encourage you to pursue that avenue in additon to seeking out a hypnotherapist. I teach self hypnosis classes only a couple of times a year but I'm very happy to offer handouts in your session on this topic if you ask me. |
