Homebirth Fee: $800
Hospital Birth Fee: $900 - $1200 (sliding scale)
*With our services we strive to meet 4-5 times before labor and birth. This gives us plenty of time to become familiar and comfortable with eachother. Our Doula package includes:
- Complimentary In-Person Interview
- Three Prenatal Visits (1 private, 2 group)
- Movie and Potluck Social Gathering (happens every other month)
- Labor Techniques Education
- Discounted Childbirth Preparation Class
- One Relaxation & Hypnosis CD
- Two doulas rotating 24/7 on-call support two weeks prior to due date and until birth
- Continuous unconditional and non-judgmental guidance and support and assistance throughout your labor, birth and up to two hours postpartum
- One Postpartum visit with breastfeeding help if needed
Support Services:
During pregnancy we can offer information and education about labor and birth, ways to prepare yourself and what you might expect as labor moves forward. During labor itself, we provide a calm and reassuring presence and assistance with comfort measures and relaxation techniques. This inlcudes massage, visualization, hot/cold therapy and assistance with guided breathing.
Additionally, we can interpret suggestions from medical care givers and remind you of your birthing preferences. We especially remind you to eat, drink and use the restroom often to allow the physiological function of birth to unfold. We can normalize birth for you, providing reassurance and loving guidance along the way to remove the mystery of this experience for you both.
There is a Doula for Everyone:
The cost of a doula is priced in a way that reflects experience, individual knowledge, being on-call for your birth, the lack of sleep doulas experience with you during your bith and the average time spent supporting a birth which can be up to 24 hours for first time parents not including prenatal visits or postpartum follow up. "Chemistry" with a doula plays a big role and when searching for a doula we recommend interviewing at least 3 people before making your decision. Knowledge and experience are also important factors to inquire about when looking for a doula and a really great doula is worth every penny! Group classes held in Oakland and in Lafayette, with 10 hours of instruction, this class includes how the mind and our beliefs lay the foundation for our unique birth experience and contains proven techniques to support the unpredictability of sensation. Includes clear handouts presented in a 3 ring binder for easy reference as well as home practice exercises, a recommended reading list and a relaxation and hypnosis CD.
- Add A Pregnancy Massage ~ $40 (*Rate for doula clients only*)
Massage Hours are M-Thur, 8am - 4:30pm only. Receiving massage in pregnancy can help alleviate sore, tired, achy places that pregnancy can bring - back, calves, feet, hips. I use Swedish Massage techniques with relaxing and soothing music tones and aromatherapy.

Blessingway Ceremony Facilitator ~$75 (Availability Basis Only)
What is a Blessingway Ceremony?
A blessingway is a creative and special alternative or addition to a traditional baby shower. Blessingways, also known as mother blessings, are based on ancient Navajo ceremonies that celebrate a woman's transition to motherhood. Variations have existed in many cultures for hundreds of years. This beautiful, non-materialistic mother shower idea invites women to share their wisdom, pledge their support and pamper the mother-to-be and themselves. Some ideas and options that make Blessingways so special are:
- Group Project - Items of special meaning may be collected from each participating woman for merging into a larger item that the woman keeps with her during labor and birth as a reminder of the supportive energy her woman friends are sending her. Examples are beads for a necklace or bracelet, fabric for a shawl or blanket, pictures for a collage, mini artworks for a mosaic, dried flowers for a sachet, items for a birth bundle or two lines of wisdom for a master poem and so much more.
- Sacred Circle Sharing - Each participating woman shares her own positive experience with pregnancy, birth and mothering for inspiration and female connection. If not yet a mother, a woman may share her ideas of how she believes the mother-to-be can be a loving mama or she could share her own mothers positive story. Ambiance may be created with sage smudges and candles.
- Welcoming the Baby - Each woman places her hands gently and lovingly on the mama-to-be's belly and offers greetings (silent or aloud) and welcoming energy to the baby. Ambiance may be created with sage smudges and candles.
- Postpartum Support Commitments - This is a great way to prepare for the immediate postpartum period by allowing loving friends to coordinate helping with meals, errands, household chores.
- Henna Belly Art - Having a Henna Belly artist come out and create a meaningful design on the mother-to-be's belly. This can be made even more special by creating ambiance with music, natural incense and candles. The design lasts for several weeks and may even be around for the birth!
- Belly Casting Art Project - Belly casting is a fun and creative way to capture the beautiful pregnant belly in all of its 3D glory. Adding some creative artwork can discreetly transform it into something ready to mount on the wall in baby's room.
- Sacred Prayer, Chanting, Visualization or Meditation Circle - Special prayers or chants may be created and as delivered as a group either as a stand alone offer of love or as an addition to one of the other items above. Creativity and meaning are the key to beautiful and memorable Blessingways. Visualization and Meditation circles are wonderful ways to spend time as a group visualizing or meditating on happy, positive thoughts and images for the labor, birth and motherhood phases the mama-to-be will go through
